Next Steps Once Your Priority Date is Current
Congratulations! If your priority date is now current, itโs time to take the next steps toward your green card.
- Review your priority date and category on the latest Visa Bulletin.
- Prepare required documents (passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, I-130/I-140 receipt notices, etc.).
- File your adjustment of status (I-485) or follow instructions for consular processing.
- If consular processing, wait for your NVC invoice and case ID to log in.
- Schedule your medical exam and collect supporting forms (Form DS-260 for consular processing).
- Contact NVC/USCIS if you have questions about your case status.
- Keep copies of all correspondence and submission receipts.
